SO, I was driving home today when my car turned off. Yes, I was driving and then my car stopped running. It's still not running. I walked a couple miles, got blistered from my flip flops, but I got to hang out with Dave and Ryan more because they picked me up and brought me home. The car is still on the highway in Charlotte.

3 things in the order they were releaved to me.

I was laying in bed around 5:30 this morning when my thoughts of Jon Greene* were interupted by the distinct sound of a large trucks air brakes (I think that is what that sound is). I was certain it was a semi and some sinister, underground imigrant drop off was happening until I realized it was the garbage men.

I had a dream last night that I was in the show 'Doug'. The opening credit had run and the first scene was at a bar/club of some kind. There was a piano player I hear that he was started to play 'Landed'. I was like, 'heck yeah, Ben Folds'. I looked for the guy and next the piano playing I saw another piano, standing, starting to sing. He had too much vibrato.

I just got a call from Target and I start Monday.

I got the newest issue of The Key(that lovely quarterly from Great Lakes Christian College). Get yours if you have one. On page 5 or somewhere around there there’s a piece about the Doty center. Below the article is a picture of some students by the sign. The caption made me laugh. It says ‘Some athletes and choir members patiently wait for the Doty center.’ Apparently, there are a group of Doty Center rowdies (of which I’m a part of) that are standing around that sign waiting patiently for someone to build a Doty Center.

Well kids, Liz and I broke up tonight, but it's weird. It's ok. It's what we needed to do. I had a lot of respect for her because of her decision.

Enough of that, but while I have your attention, I was talking to my good pal Mary S. tonight (paired with seeing Batman Begins), and I've decided to share one of my ideas I've been sitting on for a while.

Ok, I'm sharing this because I want to 'partner' with you. Please don't be scared by that. I'm not asking for money (now). I want you to pray about this. I would like some money to start getting the idea around (website, newsletter and things). PLEASE read this an think it through. Tell your friends. I'm going to start a free site with the basic info soon and will post the info there. Until then, send your folds here until then.

Ok, here's the idea, folks.

In the 'third world' our biggest problem is sanitation. Disease, famine, and all hunger related problems lead back to dirty water and poor (or non-existent) waste management. The way we've dealt with this has failed because we are treating the symptom instead of the problem. This needs to stop. My idea is that we start doing it right. Building water treatment centers will create clean water sources that will stop the spread many of the diseases haunting these people. They will also create jobs. We should also build land fills and start waste management companies that will contain many of those pesky disease polluting the water and will also create lots of jobs.

PLEASE think about this. This can really help our world.

In a shocking statement released today, Jeff Staib announced his intention to reenter the ‘dating’ world before his scheduled time of May 2006.

I'm sorry you had to miss this one travis...

Choir tour '05 was much better than the previous. The lack of certain individuals is 100% responsible for this shift. Paul and I were able to stay with Travis each night (thanks to Esther for putting this together! I know Ididn't ask, but I was hoping). A lot of fun will surely be forgotten, some has been kept alive because of Paul's video camera, but one will likely stay with me forever... [screen becomes cloudy and fades while chords are arppegiated (sorry) quickly on the harp]

I had been sick since the second night stay. The water didn't get along well with me. I later became bloated and sharp pains where attacked the lower part of my abdomen and my body was sore and weak as the immune system stepped in to fight of the disease. I had already been nearing dehydration, but the water here had scared me into avoiding the clear liquid as much as I was capable. I fought to sleep that night and to wake the next morn'. I managed to secure four bottles of water the next day (thanks to Beth, my sacked lunch, and the next church we went to), yet my urine was still colored and it hurt a lot to let it out, etc.

The last day of the four, we parked near a Meijer while we waited to meet up with a member of our group who needed to be at his church that Sunday morning. As we waiting, I journeyed to the store and acquired a gallon of Natural Spring Water ™.

I worked at my jug for the rest of the day. I made it the hour and one half until the next church. I made it though our one our program. I didn't make it the hour+ ride home. The half hour delay at Dairy Queen set me back at least twenty minutes. The movement and ice cream probably didn't help. About thirty minutes from home I asked if we could stop. Esther promised to stop at the next rest stop. The next exit had two gas stations, but it wasn't a rest stop, so we continued on. I looked ahead and saw darkness. No bright lights. No giant green exit signs.

After three miles we approached another exit with a few truck stops. Would we stop here? Nope. After we passed another viable stop point, I decided I return to the front of the bus and add some Urgency. I asked for the next exit. After a short conversation with the bus driver concerning the possibility of finding a rest area, I assumed we were talking the next stop regardless. I returned to my seat to hop, while sitting, and stifle tears. I laid my head on the seat in front of me so as to not stare into the void in front of us.

I occasionally peeked up, on the fourth hopeful glance, I saw the reflecting blue and white on the right of the road. RELIEF! OR NOT!!! We drove past.

I stood up, removed my coat from the above compartment, and grabbed my 4/5 emptied water jug.

I had the equipment, but not yet the nerve.

Now, it's important to know that, for the sake of time, I've omitted the rest of the cast until now. My endeavor began simply with my seatmate, Stephanie. I whined to her (as I do) and she encouraged me to stick it though. Soon, she began to recognize the danger of our lack of time. Soon, she was mentioning the bottle that had started this problem.

In front and behind were three more women, and one man: Beth, Megan, Deana, and Mark. Deana sympathized the best way Iknow (the play it off with laughter method) while Megan and Beth initially dismissed my convulsing as typical Staib insanity.

Jon Hatter soon joined the fun. He too was for the water bottle.

Now, you see, I've never peed in a moving vehicle and I've never peed into such a contained container. Oh, and I've never gone while talking to four girls with them listening and such. So, I was obviously reluctant yet minutes from sharing the contents of my bladder with everyone.

I thought for a few seconds while I placed my coat over my mid-section then I went for it.

I won't go into the anatomy of it, but since I was sitting and I didn't want to move too much, I had difficulties keeping it going and finishing the deal. In the end, I wound up with less on my pants than I could have had, but more than I'd like, of course.

It was another four miles before we stopped.

I consider myself a person who ‘thinks’. I wonder about society and about how we treat one another and have recently come to an acceptance of things. I’ve been thinking a lot about the depths of relationships of late and have decided it’s ok to have some shallow relationships. There are people I’ll talk to about music. People I’ll only talk to about OFL. People who I’ll only talk to about class. That’s fine.

I’m also coming to accept that we all have different priorities. I care about music and I shouldn’t be upset because someone else dedicates more time to athletic or scholastic pursuits. That’s ok. We need intellectuals as much as we need musicians.

I’ve also come to accept that most of the world aren’t ‘thinkers’. In the article linked above is the following quote:

Live Journal is getting busy again...

I wrote the coolest song. It might be my jazz band tune.

I when I was at Natalie's saturday night, we played through this hits of the '60's and '70's book. We didn't recognize most of them and the ones we did we did a poor job at remembering (her mom recognized immediatly the three I mentioned to her and then began singing and edited version of Bad, Bad Leroy Brown). There was one song written in French that she made me play because she has this affinity for French as she spend half of last year in France. It was this mess of maj7's, 6's, m7, and the like in E Flat!!. There was no hope for me. Luckily (hardly), I was playing with the Eb - Eb6 - Ebmaj7 - Eb6 - Eb - Fm7 - Bb7/Abmaj progession today and tonight and I think I found a winner. This one even has something that vaguely resembles a melody.

I'm sure you caught all of that!

I had a fun night avoiding homework with Mario 3 and Stone Cold ice cream.

oh...and

I feel so pissed off!!! doublec told me that vulpes_rhythmus told folks that they saw me talking crap about kaoru_puppylove. That's ridiculous! Don't let me hear about that again or and I'm gonna tear off their head!

Oh yeah. I was supposed to get together with tachion Tuesday but I don't want to anymore. I'm so tired of seeing the same people.

Oh and someone at work found out I was into Harry Potter and I think that's why I got fired :-(.

Tonight I got the privilege of hanging out with Natalie once again. It's been almost two years! We started off by annoying her sister and deleting part of her paper she was writing. Then we were swept back to the '60 and 70's with 100, uh, great songs from the era(few of which we recognized…). Then we talked for a while and 'debated' about if it was ok to take pride in your own work and how much you could. It's something I've been pondering for sometime. I ate a muffin, tinkered with the computer (a ritual it seems), drew an awesome map, and eventually came home.

I was driving home yesterday and I came to the instant realization that I'd left Wendi in my room. I feel like a bad parent leaving their kid at home (my grandparents left my uncle home once and my Grandpa wanted to get to the ballpark first so my Grandma could drop him off then go back to get the kid. Silly men). You see, it's the last thing I put in my car because I'm conscience of temperature changes and the like. It seems like every time I'm leaving I think to my self, Jeff, you're going to leave that guitar behind one of these weekends. This one the one. I'm glad it wasn't like spring break. I'm also grateful for the local friends that own Corts. Such nice guitars.

For the second week in a row, I lived up to my pre-game pledge to score someone a touchdown in my OFL game. This week I dedicated my performance to the great Dave Rinker.

I went to Jon's on Wednesday night with WaltAr, Jon, Jeff the other Jeff, and Dave. We had fun watching The Gamers and Barton Fink and eating frozen pizza.

Phil Keaggy is still the man.
